Apple has been sued by the state of West Virginia over what it says is a failure to prevent child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).
West Virginia Attorney General JB McCuskey has filed a lawsuit against Apple ( AAPL) for allegedly not stopping the storing of child sex abuse material, or CSAM, on its iCloud platform.
The lawsuit claims Apple has allowed iCloud to become a ‘secure avenue’ for storing and distributing CSAM.
The lawsuit accuses Apple of prioritizing privacy branding and its own business interests over child safety.
