I landed in Colorado with some hiking adventures planned above 4,000 metres- phew! So I wouldn't spend the whole time struggling with altitude, I started with an easy day walk to acclimatise, choosing the Timberline Trail near Leadville – perfect before tackling the massive 14-ers (4,267m )... or even 13-ers (3,962m ) that Colorado is famous for.
